Justin, I think this is an emotional picture that makes a powerful statement. The fact that nature matters and we are slowly losing sight of it. The picture is of a pair of leaves on a lone branch. In the background, there is a parking lot full of cars. We see the leaves are dying, turning red. The cars in the back, are not being hurt at all. We lose sight of nature, the thing that dies to put our efforts into the empty advancement of technology. I think Justin's photo is for the environment, and to save it while we still can.

I like how you have the leaves in the foreground and the background is not as focused. Your use of a medium shot gives us enough view of the background to make your point, but it is not distracting from your message. In addition to what Quinn said, your picture shows that as even as the seasons change, life still goes on.

This is a great picture Justin. I love how you showed nature and technology in the same picture, and I agree with Quinn in that this picture shows how we are losing sight of the environment. I also think that the beauty of the simple leaves on the branch is overshadowed by all the cars and busyness of life. In this picture it seems like I am the one paying attention to the leaves. Because the parking lot is so full, it is sad that only one out of all those people is stopping to pay attention to the nature.
